Novel Neuroimaging Approaches to Test Established Hypotheses about Schizophrenia
Our special guest:
Dr. Jong H. Yoon, an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Stanford University, will discuss two new neuroimaging studies he is conducting. One study is measuring changes in GABA levels in the brain stimulated by task completion to test if this approach can reveal GABA abnormalities in schizophrenia. The other study is applying a powerful new tracer of neural synapses to determin if there is over pruning of synapses in schizophrenia.
