Our Panelist Bios:

-Carrie Du Bois is a NAMI SMC Board Member and is an elected school board member for the Sequoia Union High School District. As a board member and community volunteer Carrie has been working to educate others about mental health,trauma informed learning and our most at risk students.

-Rick Cicinelli is a psychiatrist in private practice in Redwood City who conducts psychotherapy and prescribes medications when needed. He serves as a staff psychiatrist with Bay Area Community Services that serves the homeless mentally ill in Hayward. He works with The Meadows of Arizona that recently opened an intensive outpatient program in Sunnyvale, and is the Medical Director of Embodied Recovery in Los Gatos. Several of his passions include treating people for depression, those in recovery from alcohol and drugs, and patients who seek to identify core values, purpose of life, and finding meaning on a personal level. He helps patients identify spiritual gifts such as intuition and for patients with psychic gifts, how to use them constructively without fear and confusion. He believes life is a path for personal growth and development that is tailored and addressed for each person individually.

-Dr. Jennifer Harrison is licensed by the state of California as a clinical psychologist. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology, studied clinical psychology at Columbia University and received her Master of Arts in Art Therapy from New York University. She has Diplomate distinction at the National Center for Crisis Management and with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Dr. Harrison is a Board Certified, Registered Art Therapist.

-Connie Swanson, MA, MFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an associate at the Menlo Park Addictions Institute and a therapist in private practice. Connie is passionate about treatment of addiction and trauma. As a relationship builder she works with individuals, couples and families to advocate for intentional recovery of family life.

NAMI San Mateo County General Meetings are free and open to the public.  We welcome all who support our mission to improve the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families.
