Beginning in early 2017, renovation began on the old “receiving home” for abused children at the corner of Hacienda Street and 37th Avenue, and the process began to open a new respite center for people with mental health issues who need a short-term break from their living situation to get back on track. Pernille Gutschick and Nicole Ibarra will update us on the progress of the soon to be Serenity House.
Mental health difficulties and substance abuse often go hand in hand. With the right help, it is possible to get back on track.
